And then, after the ride, you’ll head to a whole other area that holds the other side of the lockers so you can retrieve your belongings easily! The coaster and Raptor Encounter will tie together. ![]() DNA himself to one side of the lockers to drop off your belongings after having been through most of the queue (don’t worry - we know you want to snap those pictures of the Raptors!). VelociCoaster offers the first ever dual-sided lockers at Universal Orlando Resort. The team working to combine the roller coaster and the environment (including the 36,000 square feet of rockwork) aimed to make it feel like the attraction itself has teeth.īONUS: The environment will also add to the convenience. It's just the queue is usually triple the wait time of everything else.Surrounding VelociCoaster are a whole slew of incredible foliage, plant species, and rockwork that don’t only fully immerse you in the jungle setting of Jurassic World, but literally make the ride more thrilling. It's the only ride in the park I'd say you can't afford to miss out on.Įdit: Last part's a lie, Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure is also a must-ride. If not, just go straight on Velocicoaster. I recommend doing a couple rounds on Dr Dooms Fear Fall (the queue is usually 10 mins or less) as it can get you used to the falling sensation pretty fast. You'd ideally need to go on enough different kinds of rides and condition your body to the point where the fear gets taken over by excitement. I've been on it 5 times and it blew me away every ride. It's near enough impossible to prepare for Velocicoaster mentally, the povs don't do it justice and me describing it wont make a difference. I speak as someone who used to be a complete coward btw, I avoided rides for the exact same reason you said and wouldn't go near them till I was like 17. The final twist does the reverse giving you a sensation like being launched out of a cannon. Notably the one that raises you and drops you at I guess around 80-85 degrees (hard to miss if you've been watching pov vids). But there are a couple drops where you do feel the Gs which give you that slight feeling in your stomach. I'm not an expert on coasters so I don't know the correct terminology for these drops and twists. It also blows Hulk and RRR out the water in every aspect. Velocicoaster on the other hand is the best rollercoaster I've ever been on. The rest of the ride is relatively generic as far as coasters go, but the addition of it letting you play music in the seats gives it an extra edge. I'm gonna recommend that you keep your eyes open on the way up, you're almost shifting the fear of the lift rather than tackling it and that wont help with pre-ride anxiety. It's also over in seconds as it doesn't hang you up there. You fall slow and the angle isn't too steep. The first drop looks 10x more intimidating than it actually is. RRR is a bumpy ride, but tame in terms of drops. I was underwhelmed by the intensity but it was still a lot of fun! Update: rode the Hulk 2 times again, have yet to ride RRR, rode Velocicoaster 2nd row… honestly I felt that the Hulk was more intense than Velocicoaster. I’ve ridden 2 rides with lifts like that, the Fahrenheit at Hershey and the Impulse at Knoebel’s, and I close my eyes the entire way up because it’s such an uncomfortable feeling. I know I am not going to enjoy the lift on RRR. I didn’t have a single problem handling it and I really didn’t find it to be that intense. For reference about what I’ve already ridden, I’ve already ridden the Hulk coaster a handful of years ago (after refurbishment) and I absolutely loved it. I will say that I really love launch coasters because I don’t have time to think about what’s going to happen. Anyway, wondering how intense RRR and Velocicoaster are especially in terms of a dropping feeling. It was still intense but made it more bearable. ![]() I’ve since learned that screaming while going down coasters helps with the intensity because bearing down makes the drop feeling worse (when I go down hills especially, I naturally clench up and stay silent, which I have read makes it harder for my body to handle the intensity.) I tried screaming down a hill on a coaster and it really helped (the Fahrenheit at Hershey Park). The main element of coasters that make me nervous are the drops because I just don’t really handle the feeling well when going down the drop. I am visiting Universal Orlando from July 31st to August 4th! We have 5 full days in the park and have express passes as well! I am wondering about the intensity of RRR and Velocicoaster and what the rides feel like.
